There's one thing we're more passionate about than our business… the planet! So we're making an effort to use sustainable practices in every part of our business.
Paper Packaging Tape
Like many businesses, we'd previously used regular packaging tape to seal our boxes. We then thought to ourselves, is this really the best option for us, our customers, and the environment? After a little bit of research, we found a great solution that would do the job and help minimize plastic waste - paper packaging tape. It's a simple alternative to clear tape that provides a tamper-evident seal, giving you peace of mind that your package has arrived intact.
Shredded Paper Packaging
We shred old documents and scrap paper in our office which is then used instead of bubble wrap. Re-purposing materials that would have otherwise been recycled have allowed us to bypass purchasing plastic packing. This, in turn, creates less waste for the end customer, as shredded paper can be reused, recycled, or composted.
Reusing Plastic Packaging
Some of our suppliers use plastic packing in the boxes we are sent. In these instances, the plastic is either recycled if there is a great excess or reused in our own orders that we send out.
Offset Carbon Emissions with CarbonClick
We've teamed up with CarbonClick, a kiwi company making it easy for people and businesses to help fight climate change. CarbonClick looks like a green button at checkout. When a customer clicks, it adds a small contribution to their transaction, to purchase carbon offsets. These offsets balance out the carbon emissions of the purchase. CarbonClick funds forest restoration, tree planting, and renewable energy projects in NZ and around the world. We're proud to be part of the fight against climate change. We'll be making our own contributions, and changing our practices to reduce our carbon footprint. We hope you'll join us by choosing CarbonClick with your purchase. You can find out more about their initiatives here or add carbon offset to your order here.
If you have any ideas on how else we can help reduce our impact on the environment, please feel free to leave a comment or contact us!
